Frequently asked

Where do my photos go?

Inside the app. They are not added to your camera roll unless you turn on Also save to Photos in Settings. That keeps your camera roll clean.

How do I get back to a place?

Open the spot and tap Navigate. The first time, pick the navigation app you prefer (Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, Amap, Baidu Maps). Turn on “Always use this app” and it will not ask again. The camera screen also shows a Latest pill for one-tap navigation to your most recent spot — handy for finding your car.

The pin is a few hundred meters off in mainland China

Shotpin corrects for the map offset used in mainland China. If a pin still looks wrong, check that the photo had a good GPS fix when it was taken (the camera screen shows “GPS locked” and the accuracy).

How do tags and parking work?

Tags are yours to define. Snap first, sort later from the To sort box in the Library. If you tag a spot as Parking, it gets a timer and a “Walk to car” button.

What does sync do?

Sync is optional. It copies your photos and spots to iCloud Drive or to your own storage (WebDAV, S3-compatible, or a folder from the Files app). See Privacy Policy for where your data goes.

I bought Pro but it isn’t unlocked

Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple account you bought with.
